Recently, I had the opportunity to present images of my work at the Morean Arts Center. Amanda Cooper, the Morean’s Curator of Exhibitions, put together this fun and informative event. Twelve artists had five minutes each to show ten images and talk about their artistic journey and methods. The variety of media and approaches was nothing short of astonishing. In the realm of photographic art there was the immediacy of unretouched smart phone images to DSLR black and white pictures with extensive post production work with PhotoShop. There was delicate torchwork glass sculpted with loving and intricate detail and abstract sculptures created from palm tree seed pods over six feet tall. I can’t describe it all, so I won’t try.
I hope that this will be a regular event. There is so much more to see and learn.
